Azure AI Foundry
Microsoft's unified platform for enterprise AI development — Model Catalog, Prompt Flow, Evaluation, Agent Service and production deployment in a GDPR-compliant Azure environment.
Azure AI Foundry in practice
Azure AI Foundry is Microsoft's development and operations environment for AI applications — and an object lesson in how fast product names move: Azure AI Studio became Azure AI Foundry in November 2024 and, at Ignite on 18 November 2025, Microsoft Foundry. The platform brings together a model catalogue of more than 10,000 models that grows by roughly 50 each month, tooling for multi-step prompt flows, an evaluation framework for quality gates before go-live, and the Agent Service for custom assistants.
The pitfall lies in selection: not every model in the catalogue is hosted and operated by Microsoft itself, and only the models sold by Azure fall under Microsoft's product terms and service level agreements. Alendris sets up Foundry environments as part of a hardened Azure landing zone — with private endpoints, customer-managed keys and end-to-end logging.
